A creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons player recently attempted to recreate a classic Pokémon urban legend from the games Pokémon Red and Blue. The result was a success. Originally released in 1998 for the Nintendo Game Boy handheld system, Pokémon Red and Blue were the first video game installments in the wildly popular franchise developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo.
The mythical Pokémon Mew was involved in the urban legend, which is considered to be one of the most infamous myths in the history of the Pokémon games. The mythical Pokémon Mew was unobtainable through normal gameplay in the original Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Blue. Mew was said to be available in the game if a player managed to locate and approach the truck that was parked next to the S. S. Anne in Vermillion City, according to the rumor. Using the skill Surf, which allowed movement around the waters near the S. S. Anne, was the only way to get to the vehicle. Because the developers never explained why the truck was parked in such an unusual location, players began spreading rumors that it was one of the few ways to catch Mew in Pokémon Red and Blue without resorting to cheating.
An Animal Crossing-themed recreation of the classic Pokémon Red and Blue urban myth was posted on Reddit by user Nara_Hale, who received over 12,000 comments. Among the turnips that surround the truck that is parked next to a river on this photograph is a truck. Surprisingly, the mythical Psychic-type Pokémon from Generation 1, Mew, has been discovered trapped under the back wheel of the truck. Nara_Hale had to get creative in order to include Mew in the game because there are no Pokémon Animal Crossing New Horizons items. They accomplished this by using the custom design tool, which allowed them to create a custom Mew pattern that they then placed in the game's scene.
It was announced earlier this week that Animal Crossing's 2.0 update would be released early, bringing with it a large amount of new content and also marking the conclusion of the game's free updates. Nara_Hale was able to use the newly introduced vehicles on their island as a result of the New Horizons 2.0 update, which included the delivery truck that was used in their Pokémon recreation. Some Redditors expressed their dismay at the predicament that Mew had found himself in, as it appeared that the Pokémon had been involved in an unfortunate car accident rather than waiting to be captured by a cunning Pokémon trainer as had been expected.
It is clear that Nara_Hale has made excellent use of the newly introduced items in Animal Crossing by bringing a classic Pokémon myth to life, which is sure to be remembered by many fans of the franchise. With the enormous variety of new items introduced in the game's most recent update, as well as the early release of Happy Home Paradise, players can expect to have even more options when it comes to getting their New Horizons designs started.
